Ambassadorial FOJs

Thank God for October! The month marked a milestone in the nation’s history. As we remember God’s faithfulness to us as Nigerians this month our conduct must exude Christ. Being Ambassadors For Christ simply involves being true representatives for Christ.  The Church at Corinth got the nudge by the Apostle to show Christ through their living for others to emulate.

We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.

As I lay rest to this POT Series, one thing the Lord will want his house to remain for is representing him well every time, anywhere and at any cost. Friends of Jesus, being an ambassador for Christ will only become real when we truly walk in the Father’s light, ride on his wings and wait upon him every time. Isa 40:31

How well do we represent Christ in our daily living? What manners do we exhibit to our course mates, roommates and lecturers? Are they replica of the father’s attitude?

What will Jesus do? This question must always rule your mind at every given time concerning every issue. Will Jesus refuse to take the honorable path of receiving insults from a naughty roommate and talk back fire for fire? Will our Father stoop low to sell her priced assets for #2.50k for any man?

What will Jesus do in an examination hall where everyone is blank and results to micro-chips for help? As Christians, when confronted with these challenges we tend to “drop the bible” and want to “face the reality”.  Lord have Mercy on us. It is then you see a Spirit-filled brother who just led the house in a thunderous prayer session turning the pages of his text book for answers in MIC 401. Ah! How can you be for Christ and the devil? What is the relationship?

Those of the world know those who are for Christ. They are watching to see how well what you preach is replicated in your dealings with them. No wonder when we fumble, you hear them say: “I thought you were a Pastor!”

An ambassador is a representative. In Nigeria, there are ambassadors sent out to the nation’s embassies in other countries to serve as the point man for the nation. Whatever the person does over there now becomes generalized. If the individual is known to cut corners, it will be generalized that citizens of the nation he represents does such.

Currently, the image of Nigeria by the countries of the world is that of a “bunch of 419ers” and “internet fraudsters (Yahoo-Yahoo)”. Why is this notion so? It is because few Nigerians have acted in such manner duping and deceiving foreigners and as such denting the nation’s reputation.

This also applies to our representing Christ. As Christians, if anyone amongst the flock depicts an anti-Christ attitude, the whole is affected. Galatians 5:9 says: “A little leaven leavens the whole lump (NKJV). The little evil deed by a member of the body can put the whole body in a bad light. See how Message translation puts it: And please don’t toss this off as insignificant. It only takes a minute amount of yeast, you know, to permeate an entire loaf of bread.

Dear Friend of Jesus, be that true representative of Christ. That’s the whole sum of our existence. Those at Antioch got this wisdom and lived by it. No wonder the people around as recorded in Acts 11:26 called them Christians!

Tenure of the Revelation of Christ

As this Sunday service marks the end of a glorious tenure of the revelation of Christ the prayer of Paul to the Church at Ephesus I pray this day for this house of God:

Eph 1:16-19

I couldn’t stop thanking God for you — every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. 17 But I do more than thank. I ask — ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory — to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, 18 your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for Christians, 19 oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him — endless energy, boundless strength!  (MESSAGE)

It is my prayer that generations after generations, this house will not stop molding lives, raising generals, being a solution centre, a family of cultured Christians, preaching and teaching Jesus as the Christ.

I love everyone all! Thank you for devoting time to read this column as the Holy Spirit held my hands to write it from November 16, 2014 till this day, October 11, 2015.

INDEED, I LOVE YOU ALL

Ever Learning Christ in Obedience

It’s a new month.

Already, it is nine wonderful days in the month of August. This month, the Father will have us examine the current state of our HEART unto him.

He requires we bring to the fore the essence of our service unto HIM. Just as Apostle Paul urged those at Corinth to examine themselves, there is a call for us as well to do so (2 Cor 13:5).

In service unto God, learning of Him is the basis. The church is essentially built to learn Christ. Ever learning Christ is therefore a daily pursuit without end. The learning of Christ is beyond our daily study of the Scriptures.

There is a coming into TRUTH expected of us. However, the last days as recorded by Apostle Paul to his son, Timothy in 2 Tim. 3:1-17 aptly notes the ever learning of believers and their inability to come into the knowledge of the truth.

The Truth is Christ. Speaking in the Gospel according to John, Jesus saith unto him: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” How well are we learning Christ?

Learning Christ produces the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of him. Obeying Christ’s leading helps we enter higher spiritual realms.

In Learning Christ, there is a place of being with him. Acts 4:13 noted that the boldness of Peter and John was as a result of been with Jesus and coming into the knowledge of the Truth.

How patient are you to let the Lord Ride on you?

How well are you letting the quarry site of the master grind and break you into HIS desired bits? Or are you one of such that jump out half-baked when the Lord is yet to be through? The Lord is interested in us. He is interested in our growth.

In Luke 2:52, Jesus grew in wisdom and stature also should we. There is also a stature we must attain in obedience.

The Spirit of God will have us totally yield unto him for him to be effective in our walk with the Father.

Christ, My Incubator

Incubators are mostly found in labour wards of hospital and medical centres. This equipment is usually utilized when a baby is born before the Due Date.

During such period, the baby is specially monitored and when he is termed stable he is removed. Same technique goes for the hatching of eggs. When Mother Hen lays eggs, such eggs are housed under her wings for days before they break forth.

With all these taking place, maturity is the destination. Such can be likened with our walk with God. It’s a daily walk that needs constant incubation under the covering of the Father. Our walk with the Father can only get better as we rest on his shoulders.

Anyone who desires advancement and maturity in this faithful journey cannot afford to be a lone ranger. But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles. (Isa 40:31a). Waiting upon the Lord is beyond a one-off experience. It involves constant sitting for the Lord to incubate on us.

Incubation process of the Father is borne out of a sincere desire of the Christian. For a sincere desire to grow in the Lord there is always a commensurate incubation.  How is your desire to know more of Him? Beyond the lyrics below:

“I want more of you Jesus

I want more of you Saviour

The more I know you

The more I want to know you

Jesus, more of you”

There must be a sincere desire and determination. Enrolling in the Father’s school of incubation is the best thing ever to happen.  While he incubates, his love towards us constrains us (2Cor 5:14). There are dealings which he takes us through.

Just hear what he will give unto those who are students of his incubation:

“They shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” (Isa 40:31b).  Running and not getting weary… Indeed, the race set before us is embedded with a cloud of witnesses (Heb 12:1) and only patience and the Father’s Incubation can do the job.

How about walking? Walking through this world of which we are not members, there are times we might feel bad about situations around us. Attitudes of the people of the world and how they go scot free can indeed be a genuine faith shaker. When we feed our minds with the atrocities of the worldly one might be on the track of backsliding.

When those who top the class are those who engage in examination malpractice, pay their way through to pass examinations, a weary mind might set in. But with the incubation school, walking through this world unscathed eliminates weariness.

Are you weary, downcast, and burdened? You feel serving the Lord is a burden? One thing is missing. It’s the fact you have displaced the Father’s ability to incubate upon us for growth.

At some point Jesus visited. While one of his hosts tried the ephemeral to impress, the other tried all her best to sap from the ever busy Master. Luke 10:38-42. Sister Mary understood the incubation process to the utmost. Jesus remarked:  “One thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her”

Are you still in the school of complains, comparisons and cowardice? Are you still battling with your faith, distractions and engagements? There is one needful school you need to enroll. It’s free of charge.

Being like Jesus involves patterning. This cannot be complete without partaking of his incubation.

Remain Rapturable.
