Yes You Can

It is with great pleasure I pen this week’s piece after a wonderful time at the Global Students’ Congress themed: Righteousness Isaiah 62:1. Indeed the programme was an experience for all attendees. God indeed was at work during the gathering of saints to breathe righteousness.

The Righteous Generation is being birthed and you cannot afford to be missing. Yes you can join the trail of persons sold out to the vision of being like Jesus. The ‘Yes you can’ tagline is a signature of confidence, zeal and possibility.

In our walk with Him the call made to the saints in Phillippi is also made unto us. Phil 2:5. He requires we come into the full stature of all He desires for us as his children.

The song writer aptly puts:

“Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me

All His wondrous compassion and purity

May His Spirit divine all my being refine

Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me

Can the beauty of Jesus actually be seen in you? Are Purity and Power –the two components of a Christian- embedded in you? Have you truly surrendered all to the master to use for his own glory? Or is there still some form of withholding and dint of disobedience?

Every aspect of our life is expected to be patterned according to the life style of our master. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13. This was the testimony spoken of Peter and John.

This testimony was so due the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit been displayed by these brothers towards others. What’s our disposition towards others? Does it reveal Christ? Can our attitude towards others be likened to that Jesus possessed even during His ministry on Earth?

In his call to the Phillipians he noted: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Being like Jesus is not a farce. It is possible. Why not purpose in your heart and consciously walk towards emulating the life style of Jesus in this race set before us? Heb 12:1
